Overview

The Account Manager for Commercial Lines at Marshall & Sterling will manage their own book of business, focusing on providing exceptional client service and building strong relationships. This role requires commercialization expertise and a passion for risk management, with the goal of helping clients protect what matters most. The position is based in Latham, NY, and offers a hybrid work environment.

Key responsibilities

  • Manage a book of business and serve as the main point of contact for clients.
  • Partner with sales executives to design risk management strategies and prepare renewals.
  • Lead client meetings including policy reviews and coverage planning.
  • Build strong carrier relationships to secure competitive coverage options.
  • Review and prepare applications and proposals for accuracy.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and regulations to provide informed recommendations.
  • Mentor Assistant Account Managers and support their success.

Required skills

  • P+C brokers license
  • Four-year college degree in business or related field
  • Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Strong commercial insurance expertise
  • Client relationship management skills
  • Business development experience
