Description: At General Plastics Manufacturing Company, we manufacture rigid and flexible polyurethane foam (LAST-A-FOAM ) and build-to-print composite parts for commercial, military, and aerospace customers - work we've done for almost 85 years. We're hiring an Account Manager to join a high-performing team focused on customer support and General Plastics' growth. This position is focused on maintaining existing client relationships, mainly in the Aerospace Industry and fostering new development opportunities by addressing current needs, responding to RFQs, and ensuring projects are managed appropriately. You will help guide customers to the correct materials and processes required to be successful for their individual programs. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a technical, fast-moving environment and enjoys building long-term partnerships with customers in aerospace and defense sectors. This role requires a strong curiosity to understand technical details, a willingness to learn and use multiple systems (MRP, CRM, etc.), effective communication, and project management skills to keep initiatives progressing smoothly. This position is an in-office role, reporting directly to the Manager, Account Management and collaborating with a team of professionals in Sales, Operations, Quality, and Finance.Duties and ResponsibilitiesBuilding and maintaining relationships with our clientsServe as the primary point-of-contact for assigned customersField general sales calls and emailsGather customer and market informationManage assigned accounts to generate maximum sales volume and profits through proactive selling, regular customer contact, and servicing of accountsEnsure customer satisfaction and organizational efficiency through timely and accurate processing and preparation of orders, inquiries, and documentationAssist in the development of Sales Forecasts with regular updates from assigned accountsFollow up and qualify leads from General Plastics' website, hotlines, tradeshows, and other marketing promotions in an effective and timely mannerProvide product recommendations, pricing, and quotation to qualified prospectsEnsure timely satisfactory resolution of customer technical and quality complaintsAnalyze and interpret requests for quotations, specifications, and engineering drawings for the purpose of determining manufacturing feasibilityProvide fundamental information used to qualify an opportunity to the estimating team to ensure a cohesive cost/quoting strategyParticipate in all aspects of preparing the quotation package and ensure that it is delivered to the customer as promised.
