The University of Cincinnati Blue Ash College is one of the largest regional colleges in Ohio. The college is located on 135 acres in a park-like setting. We offer primarily associate degrees in career and transition programs, as well as general education courses and technical baccalaureate degrees to approximately 5,100 students. The college is a recipient of the Cincinnati Business Courier 2021 Best Places to Work award.Job OverviewThe role of the advisor includes managing a student caseload and monitoring degree audits and academic plans for accuracy and readiness for graduation. Other duties include orienting new students, participating in retention efforts, and working with UCBA faculty and staff to maintain consistent academic program information. This position reports to leadership within the UCBA Advising Center. This position is eligible for a hybrid work schedule with the option of up to 2 remote working days per week upon completion of the training period. Residence must be within the Cincinnati Tri-State area (OH/IN/KY) with reasonable distance to campus to have the ability to report to campus as required. Remote work arrangements are subject to change in accordance with university policies. This is a full-time staff, benefits eligible position. This position is not eligible for Visa sponsorship.Essential FunctionsProvide academic advising to facilitate students' successful and timely educational planning and degree completion in alignment with their educational and career goals. Serve as advisor for a designated caseload of students through proactive outreach, support, and education. Provide information regarding curriculum, policies, procedures, opportunities, and guidelines for academic programs. Evaluate student information and utilize data to facilitate enrollment and registration. Maintain advising records. Facilitate and complete student degree certification. Evaluate student needs and provide appropriate resource referrals. Support students through various educational transition processes (ex. orientation, exploration, transfer, transition, and graduation). Provide support for students related to academic alert, probation, and suspension. Identify opportunities for high-performing student engagement and goal attainment. Utilize current advising and student success technologies for outreach to students. Engage ongoing professional development and training to maintain up-to-date knowledge about advising concepts,
