Overview

As an AAPC Certified Coder at MCHC Health Centers, you will play a crucial role in ensuring accurate coding, billing, and reimbursement processes across clinics. This position allows for remote or hybrid work and involves providing expertise in coding practices while optimizing revenue cycle performance and maintaining compliance.

Key responsibilities

  • Accurately review, code, and submit claims using ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding systems
  • Manually enter in-patient/hospital charges
  • Investigate and resolve denials, unpaid claims, and billing discrepancies
  • Monitor aging reports and take action to meet accounts receivable goals
  • Maintain coding updates, payer requirements, and system configurations
  • Verify patient eligibility and ensure complete and accurate charge entry
  • Break down EOBs and communicate clearly with both staff and patients
  • Collaborate with internal teams to resolve complex billing and reimbursement issues
