Overview

The Business Management-Salon Emphasis Program Lead Faculty position at Klamath Community College is a 9-month, full-time role focused on teaching upper division coursework in a hybrid learning environment. Faculty members are expected to deliver high-quality instruction while engaging in college activities and supporting the institution's mission.

Key responsibilities

  • Teach 45 credits per academic year in online and hybrid modalities
  • Develop and update Business Management and Salon Emphasis courses
  • Evaluate and assess student academic achievement
  • Adjust teaching strategies based on assessment results and feedback
  • Maintain scheduled student office hours and additional campus hours for support
  • Advise students in the Business Management BAS program
  • Collaborate on curriculum development with advisory committees
  • Participate in professional development activities related to teaching and assessment
  • Engage in departmental evaluations and meetings
  • Promote the college's mission, values, and vision

Required skills

  • Master's or doctoral degree in a related field
  • Five or more years of industry experience in Beauty, Spa, Cosmetology, or Hospitality
  • Teaching experience in a community college or university setting preferred
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written
  • Proficient in technology for online and hybrid learning
  • Familiarity with the Canvas learning management system preferred
  • Experience with distance education courses preferred
  • Knowledge of teaching and learning theories and best practices
