Overview

Match Education is seeking a 5th Grade ELA Teacher for its Match Community Day elementary school in Hyde Park, Boston. This role involves leading a classroom of approximately 24 students and ensuring their academic growth and achievement. The school prioritizes diversity, equity, and inclusion, serving a student body that represents a wide range of backgrounds and needs.

Key responsibilities

  • Teach 5th grade ELA blocks
  • Plan lessons and student materials using existing curriculum
  • Uphold high academic and behavioral expectations for students
  • Participate actively in Match's coaching and professional development programming
  • Assist with school programming as needed during non-instructional time
  • Serve as a positive and collaborative member of the Match Charter Public School community

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree
  • At least two years of full-time experience as a classroom or special education teacher, preferably in an urban education
  • Meet teacher certification requirements set by the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education
