Job Description

Overview

The 4-H Youth Development Community Education Specialist will work within the University of California Cooperative Extension Office to support the 4-H Youth Development Program in Kern County. This role involves program coordination, outreach, and recruitment efforts, along with training volunteers and managing educational activities focused on positive youth development.

Key responsibilities

  • Oversee the local 4-H Youth Development Program to ensure compliance with policies and procedures.
  • Provide training and support to 4-H volunteers, youth, and community partners.
  • Promote and expand 4-H programs in schools and communities.
  • Monitor youth and volunteer enrollments for compliance with state policy.
  • Assist with creating outreach and education plans to increase participation in 4-H programs.
  • Manage communication channels including social media and community engagement.
  • Prepare annual and funding reports as requested.
