Overview

Grand River Navigation Company is seeking a qualified 3rd Assistant Engineer to join their team on US flagged self-unloading vessels operating on the Great Lakes. The role emphasizes safety, teamwork, and efficient operations while offering opportunities for professional growth and development.

Key responsibilities

  • Safely manning an Engineering Watch
  • Completing tasks as assigned by the Preventative Maintenance System
  • Maintaining Engine and Deck Equipment such as Air Compressors, Winches, Sewage Units, Ballast Pumps, Potable Water Pumps, and OWS
  • Performing other duties assigned by the Vessel's Chief Engineer

Required skills

  • TWIC Card - Transportation Worker Identification Credential
  • United States Merchant Mariners Credential (MMC) with endorsement as 3rd Assistant Engineer of Motor Propelled Vessels U
  • Unexpired US Passport or Enhanced Driver's License
  • Ability to work legally in the US
  • Excellent communication and multitasking skills
  • Experience working as a team member
