Overview

The 36B Financial Management Technician role in the Army National Guard is vital for ensuring proper financial management and accounting within the organization. This position involves budgeting, disbursing funds, processing payments for Soldiers and vendors, and maintaining financial records. The technician plays a key role in analyzing spending and formulating future budgets.

Key responsibilities

  • Receive and post documents to accounting/budget systems
  • Process treasury checks for payments and invoices
  • Maintain files and prepare financial reports/travel vouchers
  • Review contracts, invoices, and receive reports
  • Compute payroll and other allowances
  • Audit accounting records
  • Prepare payments for Army personnel
  • Record details of financial transactions on accounting forms
  • Disburse cash, checks, advance pay, and bonds
