Overview

Amrize is looking for a 310T Truck Mechanic or Apprentice in Hamilton, Ontario, to focus on the repair and maintenance of their Ready Mix fleet and other essential vehicles. This role plays a vital part in ensuring the operational efficiency and safety of the fleet, requiring skills in diagnosing and repairing complex mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.

Key responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive inspections and diagnostic tests on heavy trucks, including Ready Mix trucks and other vehicles.
  • Execute preventative maintenance services to ensure fleet reliability.
  • Conduct safety checks on all vehicles and equipment to comply with standards.
  • Respond to service calls for emergency breakdowns during regular and after hours.
  • Maintain organized records of services performed and utilize computer systems for work orders.
  • Adhere to health, safety, and environmental policies and promote a culture of safety.

Required skills

  • Licensed 310T Truck and Coach Technician
  • Minimum of 2 years of heavy truck experience
  • Knowledge of heavy truck systems including diesel engines, transmissions, brakes, steering, and suspension
  • Experience with hydraulic systems
  • Proficiency in inspections, diagnostic tests, troubleshooting, and vehicle repair
  • Good written and oral communication skills
  • Computer skills including work order creation and email usage
  • Possession of own hand tools and tool box
  • Valid G Driver's License with a clean abstract (AZ or DZ preferred)
