Overview

RPM Staffing Professionals Inc. is seeking a 2nd Shift Fiber Optic Cable Assembly Operator for a client in Mc Kinney, Texas. The role encompasses assembling, testing, and inspecting fiber optic cables while maintaining high-quality standards in a dynamic manufacturing environment.

Key responsibilities

  • Assemble fiber optic cable assemblies, patch cords, and connectorized products
  • Prepare, strip, terminate, polish, and inspect fiber optic cables and connectors
  • Operate polishing equipment and assembly tools
  • Perform visual inspections and quality checks on finished products
  • Read and interpret assembly drawings and specifications
  • Maintain accurate production and quality records
  • Follow established manufacturing procedures and safety guidelines
  • Troubleshoot minor assembly issues and report problems
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives

Required skills

  • Experience in fiber optic assembly, cable assembly, electronics manufacturing, or wire harness assembly
  • Strong attention to detail and manual dexterity
  • Ability to read and follow written instructions and assembly drawings
  • Basic computer and documentation skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to lift up to 35 pounds
  • Experience with fiber termination, polishing, and inspection processes (preferred)
  • Familiarity with IPC standards or quality manufacturing environments (preferred)
