This is a hands-on general labor position in a metal shop environment. No advanced machining experience is required - you will be trained on the job. This position is temp-to-hire.You will assist with cleaning up and finishing metal parts by using hand tools to remove sharp edges and burrs. This is a physical position that involves standing, bending, handling metal parts, and working in a dusty and dirty shop environment.Job DutiesGrind and remove burrs and sharp edges from metal partsUse hand tools and basic power tools as instructedInspect finished pieces for rough edges or imperfectionsMove and handle metal parts and materialsKeep the work area clean and organizedPerform general shop and production duties as neededFollow safety procedures and instructionsLift and move materials weighing up to 50 lbs.RequirementsAbility to work in a manufacturing/metal shop environmentComfortable using hand tools and learning new tools and processesAbility to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive physical workAbility to lift up to 50 lbs.Reliable attendance and a willingness to learnAbility to work in a dusty, dirty, industrial environmentPrevious experience is helpful but not requiredTraining & ScheduleYou will begin by training on 1st shift, 7:00 AM-4:00 PM, for approximately two weeks. After training is completed, you will transition to the regular 2nd shift schedule of Monday-Thursday, 3:00 PM-12:00 AM.What to ExpectThis is a hands-on shop position that can be physically demanding. You will be working around metal parts, grinding equipment, dust, and shop debris. The right candidate is someone who is dependable, comfortable working with their hands, and willing to learn. This position is temp-to-hire and as such, you have the opportunity to get hired on permanently with the company should you succeed on the temporary segment of the assignment.
