Job Description

Overview

The 2nd Shift CNC Machine Setup & Operator at Harken is responsible for setting up and operating CNC milling machines while ensuring close tolerance and finish requirements are met. The role entails following detailed drawings, making necessary adjustments, and maintaining a high standard of quality in a safe and organized environment.

Key responsibilities

  • Set up, operate, and adjust CNC milling machines
  • Run routine programs and perform machining operations
  • Read and interpret detailed part drawings and blueprints
  • Monitor machine performance and report variations
  • Use precision measuring instruments to inspect parts
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment
  • Assist in proving out new programs under supervision
  • Recommend tooling arrangements and operation sequences

Required skills

  • Up to 2 years of CNC mill setup experience
  • General knowledge of machining techniques and tooling
  • Experience using precision measuring instruments
  • Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings
  • Strong attention to detail and quality
  • Ability to perform mathematical calculations
