The Air Defense Ground Equipment Mechanical Design Department is responsible for the mechanical design, development, and integration of critical defense platform systems. This includes radar and communications shelters, electronic subsystems, launchers, hardware integration, and system interconnects. We are currently seeking a motivated and driven Mechanical Engineer II to join our Ground Equipment Design Team. The ideal candidate will bring a blend of technical expertise, mechanical hardware design experience, system integration skills, and a strong background in program execution and production support. As a key contributor on a mechanical or cross-functional engineering team, you will be responsible for component and assembly modeling, documentation, design changes, and release processes. Role is an On-Site role in Tewksbury or Andover, MA What You Will DoInvestigate and resolve change requests from manufacturing or suppliersDevelop rework or modification procedures to support product updatesSupport the full product lifecycle from concept definition through detailed design, release to production, and post-production support of Ground Based Defense System including Effectors.Work closely with other engineering disciplines, non-technical functions, and suppliers to develop robust design solutions and resolve technical challengesParticipate in design peer reviews, resolve action items, and conduct trade studies to inform technical decisionsManage tasks independently and ensure timely delivery of technical, schedule, and financial commitmentsMentor and support less experienced engineers, contributing to team development and technical growth Qualifications You Must HaveTypically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 2 years of prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree.Experience Collaborating with cross-functional teams and suppliers to develop robust design solutions and resolve technical challenges. Experience participating in design reviews, driving action-item closure, and conducting engineering trade studies. Demonstrated ability to independently manage engineering tasks and deliver against technical, schedule, and cost commitments. Hands-on experience with 3D CAD and Product Data Management (PDM) systems; experience with Creo, SolidWorks, or NX is preferred. Experience with independently managing tasks to deliver on technical/scheduling and cost commitments. Experience supporting product development throughout the engineering lifecycle, from concept through production. Qualifications We Prefer Experience investigating and resolving manufacturing or supplier cha
