1st Shift Quality Inspector fitchburg, MA 014201st Shift Quality InspectorMicron Solutions is a multifaceted contract manufacturing organization specializing in thermoplastic injection molding, precision machining and finishing, and silver-plated medical sensors for disposable electrodes. We partner with clients of all sizes to provide manufacturing and assembly solutions that help bring products from concept to commercialization. Our 120,000-square-foot manufacturing facility in Fitchburg, Massachusetts, is equipped to support every stage of the product lifecycle.The 1st Shift Quality Inspector is responsible for performing routine inspections of materials and products to ensure compliance with quality standards and customer specifications. This role communicates inspection findings to Quality and Production leadership, identifies nonconforming products, and supports investigations into quality and process issues. The Quality Inspector also contributes to corrective and preventive actions aimed at improving product quality and manufacturing performance.This position requires strong attention to detail, accurate data entry, thorough recordkeeping, and strict adherence to quality procedures within a regulated manufacturing environment. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 7:00am - 3:00pm. KEY RESPONSIBILITESPerform product inspection using a variety of precision measurement tools and equipmentProperly set up parts, run established measurement programs, and interpret results (pass/fail)Inspection equipment includes, but is not limited to:Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM)Vision systems (Keyence, Micro-Vu)Optical comparators (standard and eCAD)Micrometers, calipers, and drop indicatorsPull-force and hardness testersCoordinate Measuring Machine (CMM)Vision systems (Keyence, Micro-Vu)Optical comparators (standard and eCAD)Micrometers, calipers, and drop indicatorsPull-force and hardness testersAccurately complete and maintain quality records, logs, and reportsPerform data entry to support trending and performance monitoringConduct documentation review and dimensional verification of incoming materialsIdentify, segregate, and tag nonconforming materialsLog and document nonconforming product detailsParticipate in Material Review Board (MRB) activities, including evaluation and disposition supportProvide input on product condition and potential impactIdentify opportunities for corrective and preventive actions (CAPA)Support follow-up and effectiveness checks under guidance of Quality EngineeringPerform in-process, final, and release inspectionsComplete First Article Inspections (FAI) following established proceduresSupport validation activities with measurement and documentationPerform in-house gage calibrations per work instructionsQualifications Education & Experience High School Diploma or GED requiredAbility to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and work instructionsBasic computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft OfficeExperience with standard dimensional inspection tools (calipers, micrometers, comparators, etc.)Ability to operate advanced inspection equipment (e.g., CMM, vision systems)Working knowledge of:ISO 13485 standardsFDA 21 CFR Part 820Statistical Process Control (SPC) principlesISO 13485 standardsFDA 21 CFR Part 820Statistical Process Control (SPC) principlesStrong attention to detail and organizational skillsEffective communication and ability to follow verbal and written instructionsAbility to work independently in a fast-paced manufacturing environmentMust be able to work the assigned shift: Monday-Friday, 7:00am - 3:00pm Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
